| Yes driving on the autobahn does mean you have to be more aware and yes most people are. The KEY DIFFERENCE that actually makes high speed differences possible is that people leave the LEFT LANE OPEN for passing. Unlike the US where you pass on any side and folk like to get over to the left and set cruise control to 51 mph...that just wouldn't work onthe autobahn. You rarely if ever see ppl pass on the RIGHT on the autobahn, you see it here all the time (and yes with ppl doin more than 20mph faster) drivers here need to understand that it is actually a law 9rarely if ever enforced) to get out of the PASSING lane.
