I love Z's, but I wouldn't write off all domestics. My daily driver is a Saturn SL2 with 181,000 miles on it, still going strong. It has that "import" feel to it and runs great, handles well. I don't know why most domestic manufacturers assume that the American market wants a car that is soft, mushy, and handles like a river barge. And yeah, lots of domestics need some work on the reliability standpoint. But they've come a long way since the 80's when they fell apart easily.
