:I can drive the piss out of the Z on a roadcourse, can do some amazing things with them on the dyno... I could probably make one fly if I really wanted to and had proper funding to do it (still wouldn't be practical), but goddamn if I can drive a car straight down a track.. My 60' times really suck and it would easily translate into 11s passes. I was racing an 11.2 second Chevelle who was squeezing off 1.48s 60' times and he was only pulling 114MPH trap speeds. Given that info, with near 118MPH trap speeds my car with that kind of traction would be into the 10's. I know for sure that the clutch wouldn't hold it though. :I dont see what you mean as being "odd". It all makes pretty good sense to me.. The Z is shit for launching.
First of all, throw those POS Nitto's away and get some BFG or ET Streets. Considering you ran Nitto's your 60' time was pretty good for a 5spd. You trap speed isn't going to be higher with a faster 60'. I've seen my Supra buddies run anywhere from 11.6-12.9 with the trap speeding changing by 1mph max. Your MPH problem isnt in your launch, its in the power its putting down. Have your redynoed your car again after the track day?
