| All I said was "You don't expect a shop to spend an hour of their time, figuring out what's wrong with your car, so you can get it out of there and do the work yourself, without paying them for their time, do you?" since you said "She also needed the CV boots replaced or the entire axel if needed". Which to me meant they had to do some diagnostic work. I wasn't there to hear the conversation. Did you get a written estimate? Just becuase a place is expensive, doesn't mean they're trying to rip you off. I never said doubling of a fee is legit. Then you call me an idiot. You're the one who had his GF take her car to a dealer.
