We use 802.11g (54MPS) at our car club meetings at member's houses or when we go to places with "hot spots". It really serves no purpose besides commication and internet access. I actually think what you are thinking up would be a good idea. Never thought of that before. I might have to try that myself, but really as far as communication goes, we always use nextel phones or 2-way radios. Good luck though, lemme know how it goes. Also try to get Linksys gateway if you can, they have a little better signal.
