Our Hunter here at work went through a series of trials last Spring to determine the reproducablity of a mobile tire balancing machine. The results showed that a mobile balancer will give readings that vary greatly, depending mainly upon the mounting surfaces of the machine and wheel. In our (the company) case, the paint on the wheels tends to be oversprayed to the mounting surface, which directly influences balancing. Mount the wheel, get a reading of 5 grams. Unbolt the wheel, spin it 45 degrees, bolt it back up, get a reading of 10 grams. However, when we took some of these wheels back to the supplier, they showed a consistant balancing regardless. However, the supplier uses a $1 million balancer. So, long story short...the Hunter will do...unless you have a meeelion dollars laying around.
