The civic is Dara's and she doesn't quite have 100,000 in it. Less than half that Id say. The thing is, she is sponsored by everyone for everything. Very little comes out of her pocket. Nitrous Express even pays for all her travel expenses. She actually used to drive the car all the time, but since chroming everything underneath, she doesn't drive it anymore. She took 6 trophies and $1500.00 at this show. In fact, the travel channel is following her around the country right now and will be doing a documentary on her at the end of this show season. Speed Addicts will also be in it because she is a team member...so look for me when it comes out..lol. I ended up taking home 3 trophies, Mark with the MR2 took 2, and the rest of the team each took one. We also took home Best Import Team and recieved a 6' trophy, a solid crystal trophy that was heavy as hell (Id say 50-60 lbs.) in the shape of a full sized battery (since it was sponsored by Die Hard) and $500.00. My thoughts on this show was that is was interesting. I was talked into going at the last minute because I felt my car wasn't ready for such a huge show. But I went to support the rest of the team and have fun. I never expected to win anything let alone Best Nissan. I thought Brian or Chris would take it as I have placed 2nd to Brian and his 350Z at the last two shows. For those wondering about how these shows are judged, you are given points in each catagory of exterior, interior, stereo, engine and display. If your hood is closed, you get 0/10 points. It needs to be open atleast 6" to get any points. Also, display/presentation I believe was 25 points at this show. So if you had no display, you get 0/25 points, and that hurts your overall score in a big way. Anyway, people may or may not like my car or bitch about this and that that I have done or haven't done to it. The fact is, it's my car and I enjoy representing in the show community with a 300ZX. Win or lose, these shows are about getting recognition for the hard work I have put into it and getting it seen. This show did just that for me. I had two people video it for movies and a camera crew come and shoot it for a TV show. I also had several websites and magazines shoot it for some features. Its a great feeling to have someone walk up and say to me, "hey, I've seen your car on such and such website". I'm sure a lot of you guys can relate to that. LaterZ...
