 
" Although the stock turbos intake (right) may look to be the same size, if you look closely you can see that the stocks inlet housing necks down in size as it encircles the turbine blades, the TD05's does not. Those are quarters on the sides for scale. You can also see the internal wastegate at the lower right of the stock turbo. As you can see, it does not look very strong and it's not. One of the reasons the TD05's spool up so fast is because the stock wastegates do leak, allowing some exhaust pressure to be vented before it is called to do so. The TD05's wastegates are VERY strong and no gasses escape spooling the turbos until they are supposed to. "
