2 pieces of info for you: 1. Water is NOT a conductor. If you get an electrical circuit wet, the reason you can short stuff is because of impurities in the water completing a short for you. When the water dries, those impurities are left behind so you might want to clean ECU circuit board with comrpessed air or sterile pads.2. Most circuit boards, after being assembled, are covered with what is called "conformal coat". Its a gel like coating that covers all the parts on the board. While the socketed ECU wont be coated in conformal coat, all the other parts probably are, but I havent checked. If that is the case, then dont even worry about water, as even the impurities wont touch any of the leads or components. In either case, simply wiping the board with a sterile pad or compressed air would be a good idea.
