You're right about that. For most cars you'd want to find the pinion that suits your needs the best. My little Porsche 956 was 1/12 scale, a very small and light car. That thing was so light that even with a drag motor (9 turn 50,000 rpm Big Daddy) and the biggest pinion I could fit, it would spin wheels even at top speed. It had those little foam "slicks", and I treated them with this Green Dot tire compound to make them more sticky. Even then it wouldn't get traction. It was insane, lol... it would keep accelerating until it became airborn, and that sucker was moving QUICK!
