These covers are NOT painted with chrome paint they are vacuum metalized. Vacuum Metalizing is the process of evaporating metals (most commonly aluminum) inside a vacuum chamber to achieve a thin uniform metalized layer. Vacuum metalizing has many uses including; EMI/RFI shielding, decorative metallic and chrome finishes, highly reflective coatings, heat shielding, vapor barriers, and many more. Visit [ http://www.muellercorp.com/process.htm ] for more information. These covers have the exact same luster, reflectivity and shine of traditionally chrome plated metal. In fact if you didn't know better you would swear they were chromed metal covers.
The covers are not perfect there are some light scratches caused from the assembly and disassembly of the intake to the throttle bodies and the temperature sensors on the water hard pipes. Fortunately on a fully assembled engine these scratches are hidden by the adjacent components.
To pay for the set up and processing of the vacuum metalizing added to the value of the covers to break even I would have to get over $600 for these covers, however since these are used and I have no immediate need for these I am asking $250 shipped anywhere in the continental US. I will take offers however lets not get rediculous. If interested please email or call...
