I personally put the pulley on my car which is cooled by dual electric fans, and I noticed a nice decrease in water temperature while driving in the city, racing, and climbing up steep grades.
You can reuse the same belt BUT that varies on alternators and current adjust ability of the adjustment bolt. New belt is recommended in this instance.
